This week CBM honored and remembered the victims of September 11, 2001. The students watched a video from SC Featured about Welles Crowther, a young man wearing a red bandana who sacrificed his life to save people from one of the towers. The students also participated in a Gallery Walk in the Media Center of informational posters from the 9/11 Museum. Students completed a Google Form Scavenger Hunt as they read the information. Upon completion, each student signed a star to add to the 9/11 Remembrance Poster hanging in the hall. These activities prompted many meaningful conversations about the events of 9/11 while students practiced informational text reading skills, and reflected on the importance of remembering these events.

    Principal's Message

I am Lee Glover, your Principal at Carvers Bay Middle School. I am beginning my 22th year with Georgetown County School District, and my fourth year as a principal. I began my career at Browns Ferry Elementary where I taught 5th grade.  From there, I moved to Georgetown Middle School where I taught middle level science for nine years before being named the Assistant Principal of Carvers Bay Middle in 2009. I have enjoyed a wonderful working relationship with the staff and community for the past 12 years, and I look forward to many more.

It is my goal to provide our students with the very best possible education while preparing them to become life-long learners and productive well rounded citizens.  I am also dedicated to ensuring that all students reach their academic potential. Our faculty and staff are committed and understand that education does not just take place inside the four walls of a classroom. They are devoted to creating authentic learning experiences both in and outside of those walls. Their diligence, hard work, and love for our students directly affects the great success we have enjoyed here at Carvers Bay Middle over the years.

    Sincerely,

    Lee Glover, Principal
