Georgetown County School District will begin operation in REMOTE learning phase on September 8. This decision was based on today’s (August 10) DHEC disease activity report, which rated our county HIGH in all three categories. Our plan, which was approved by the State Department of Education, requires us to move to HYBRID phase by September 14. GCSD plans to petition the state department to remain in REMOTE learning phase until our risk category improves. We will share the results of our waiver request as soon as we are able to so that our families and schools can plan accordingly.

    Principal's Message

    Dear CBM Families and Friends,

I am Lee Glover, your Principal at Carvers Bay Middle School. I am beginning my 20th year with Georgetown County School District, and my second year as a principal. I began my career at Browns Ferry Elementary where I taught 5th grade.  From there, I moved to Georgetown Middle School where I taught middle level science for nine years before being named the Assistant Principal of Carvers Bay Middle in 2009. I have enjoyed a wonderful working relationship with the staff and community for the past 10 years, and I look forward to many more.

It is my goal to provide our students with the very best possible education while preparing them to become life-long learners and productive well rounded citizens.  I am also dedicated to ensuring that all students reach their academic potential. Our faculty and staff are committed and understand that education does not just take place inside the four walls of a classroom. They are devoted to creating authentic learning experiences both in and outside of those walls. Their diligence, hard work, and love for our students directly effects the great success we have enjoyed here at Carvers Bay Middle over the years.

The beauty of being a part of this community is the fact that this process never falls on one person’s shoulders. We are so blessed to have active stakeholders who provide valuable resources and volunteer time to the betterment of our students once again ensuring that our students maximize and unlock individual potential. It is my hope that you and your family have a wonderful and safe school year. Please know that my door is always open, and I thank you for your continued support as we enter the 2020-2021 school year.

    Lee Glover, Principal
