CBMS Families,

Students will be able to come and pick up packaged items out of their locker, pick up medication, and return sports uniforms, textbooks, library books, Homework Helper, and Chromebooks on May 26, and May 27th.

Only students who attend CBMS and one parent will be allowed to pick up/return items to the building. We will be practicing social distancing so please be patient.

All students should report to the main entrance. Students will be given a bag with all of their belongings in it. All items in the locker have been placed in the bag. Sorting of items will be done at home.

During this time, we ask that parents not congregate outside. Thank you for understanding and helping us keep everyone safe!

8th grade students and parents:
Re: IGP Conferences
Due to the need for social distancing, we will not be able to meet in person to create Individualized Graduation Plans (IGPs) for each 8th grader.  However, we do still need to have this information in order for the high school to create schedules for next year and we can do this through video or phone conferencing.

If you would like to schedule a time for meeting by phone or video, feel free to email me and we can set this up.  My email is kkennedy@gcsd.k12.sc.us and I will get back in touch with you immediately to do this.  Otherwise, I will be contacting everyone by phone to set up a time to meet with you.  In order to do this, we will need to have both the parent and student present, so we can discuss what is needed for next year.  These conferences will not take long, 10-15 minutes at most unless you have questions, which are always welcomed.
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding during this time.  I look forward to talking with you all very soon.

    Principal's Message

    Dear CBM Families and Friends,

I am Lee Glover, your Principal at Carvers Bay Middle School. I am beginning my 20th year with Georgetown County School District, and my second year as a principal. I began my career at Browns Ferry Elementary where I taught 5th grade.  From there, I moved to Georgetown Middle School where I taught middle level science for nine years before being named the Assistant Principal of Carvers Bay Middle in 2009. I have enjoyed a wonderful working relationship with the staff and community for the past 10 years, and I look forward to many more.

It is my goal to provide our students with the very best possible education while preparing them to become life-long learners and productive well rounded citizens.  I am also dedicated to ensuring that all students reach their academic potential. Our faculty and staff are committed and understand that education does not just take place inside the four walls of a classroom. They are devoted to creating authentic learning experiences both in and outside of those walls. Their diligence, hard work, and love for our students directly effects the great success we have enjoyed here at Carvers Bay Middle over the years.

The beauty of being a part of this community is the fact that this process never falls on one person’s shoulders. We are so blessed to have active stakeholders who provide valuable resources and volunteer time to the betterment of our students once again ensuring that our students maximize and unlock individual potential. It is my hope that you and your family have a wonderful and safe school year. Please know that my door is always open, and I thank you for your continued support as we enter the 2019 – 2020 school year.

    Lee Glover, Principal
